About Salsa Gill
Hi, I am Gill, I run salsa classes and I am usually known by the name Salsa Gill. Although I am not the only salsa teacher in our happy little band of salsa dancers (see The Team) I organise our group as well as doing much of the salsa teaching.
I have been dancing salsa for around 15 years and have danced salsa all over the UK, as well as in Paris and New York. I am a Deputy Headmaster which obviously helps with my teaching skills, but my teaching style for salsa is mainly about fun and enjoyment for all, whatever age, gender or ability. As your dancing progresses, I have the dance experience to teach you styling and advanced techniques, but you will still find my teaching style fun and enjoyable, despite being challenging.
I set my objective for each student to be able to attend a salsa social event and hold their own on the dance floor. By this, I mean that each student will be able to go to one of the many salsa parties and social dances available each week and be able to dance and enjoy their evening without worrying too much about whether they can “do it”! I have to say that judging by the number of our students that get out to salsa events, I have been very successful so far! Please feel free to visit our Gallery where you will find Photos and Videos of us strutting our stuff and please bear in mind that some of the dancers may only have been dancing for a few short weeks!
I also offer private classes and these may be used for things like a first dance at a wedding or to try to surprise a loved one, as well as to improve your dancing with one-to-one help or to speed up your learning. We can do private classes at one of our venues or at your home if you have enough space.
I am married to Tony, one of the team and of course, my regular dance partner! I have three children and live on The Wirral.
